Events specialists System Insight, who pride themselves on putting together bespoke packages for events photographers, have been recently re-awarded Mitsubishi Reseller status. MD Stuart Morley is very much an evangelist on all things events-based, and since Stuart and his staff are practising events photographers, advice doesn't ring hollow.

He believes that Mitsubishi are "still very much the definitive force in this market with over 14 years' experience, unlike some newcomers who don't even make their own printers, merely re-badge those made by others."

MD Stuart recommends the new Mitsubishi CP-K60DW and enthuses about the fact that it allows not only two sizes of print (6x4 and 8x6) from one roll of media, but encompasses roll-back technology to reduce media wastage when printing different sizes. With 320 prints per roll, a glossy and lustre print finish, plus a print speed of just over 11 seconds, it boasts a relatively compact size of 340mmx275mmx446mm.

A second recommendation is the HiTi P510L, which Stuart describes as the cheapest dye sub roll fed printer on the market. Based on the popular P510S series, it doesn't have a standalone facility whereby a memory card or USB stick can be inserted but does come much cheaper. It is also capable of producing 6x4, 7x5, 8x6 and 9x6 prints in both matt and gloss finishes. With dimensions of 34x28x22cm, it weighs a portable 13.6kg too.

Also worth checking by anyone new to the events 'game' are the one-day Event Photography for Profit and Marketing for Success courses run by System Insight and Stuart himself who claims never to have made an outgoing sales call in a 20-year career. As a sweetener for anyone wishing to attend both training days, £100 discount is offered.
