Another major player when it comes to lightning, Profoto highly recommends its D1 kits for shooting events where mains power is available - the aim being to supply professional studio type lighting. The D1 kit is claimed to offer 'fantastic value' and costs £1,425.00 +VAT. The kit contains two D1 monolights, two umbrellas, two stands, a studio kit bag and power cables, and is suitable for most eventualities.

If the photographer finds himself or herself without mains power, then Profoto's most pertinent battery offering would be its Acute B2 AirS Kit, which is described as a complete lighting set up in a single box. Said to be the perfect kit for shoots where you need to keep moving, the compact and lightweight battery unit can be carried over a shoulder throughout the shoot.

The AcuteB2 AirS kit is currently available at £1,705 +VAT. As we went to press, rumours were swirling that events specialist Photomart was in the process of inking a deal to distribute Profoto's gear, which brings us on to our next participant...
