The Flash Centre
Another source of creative lighting solutions is of course the Flash Centre. Stocking a wide range of kit that will be of use to the events photographer wanting a portable set-up to use on the night, it says that 'all options are open' when it comes to picking specific product, so it may well be worth chatting through your intentions with the guys at 'TFC' first. That said, with a plethora of mains powered and battery powered product on offer that can be used for both location and studio work, the Innovatronix Explorer is singled out as an option events photographers may find noteworthy - as it is the lightest portable power supply in the
range.
Supplied with a carry case, there are Mini and XT SE versions of the Innovatronix Explorer, which are compatible with the Elinchrom D-Lite and BXRi range. The Mini, for £385 inc VAT, runs off a maintenance-free, valve regulated 12V/9Ah SLA battery, and is compatible with bi-voltage, digital and analogue monoblocks and flashes, while the XT SE boasts the advantage of an additional battery for £429 inc VAT. Again it's ideal for powering two or more flash heads, and features a heavy construction and
built-in handle.
