Paul J. Pycroft is a freelance photographer based in Cardiff, South Wales, with experience across a wide range of photography including portraits, landscapes, nature and still life. Photography complements his other interests in IT, web development and swimming.

Paul�s passion for photography began at the age of 15 when he received his first camera, a Zenith B 35mm film SLR. This gave him an early grounding in working with different lighting conditions, both with and without a light meter. At 17, he took the winning photograph in the Welsh Youth Photography Award.

During his early career as an Electronic Technician at Cardiff University, Paul continued developing his photographic skills using Pentax and Nikon 35mm film SLR cameras. His photography was also used occasionally as part of academic and postgraduate research projects, giving him experience in both photography and traditional darkroom printing techniques.

Today, Paul works with a digital full-frame SLR and modern photo-editing software, combining his extensive experience with contemporary digital photography techniques.
